Our community involvement

The Openwork Foundation

At Openwork, we recognise the importance of lending our strength and influence to good causes. That’s why the Openwork Foundation was set up in 2005 (the same time Openwork was launched) and is funded and supported by our staff and advisers.

Since then, the Foundation has raised more than £3.4m, supporting tens of thousands of disadvantaged children.

Our current focus is Cares 4 Kids which supports disadvantaged children and young people between 0 and 18 years of age in the UK and overseas who face social, physical or mental challenges. We provide grants to charities to deliver change that lasts, providing long-term solutions and support for these children.

Our charity partner for 2012-14 is the Carers Trust (formerly The Princess Royal Trust for Carers) – the largest provider of carer support services in the UK, helping over 31,000 young carers. We also fund projects for local charities.

The Openwork Foundation comes under the umbrella of the Zurich Community Trust (Registered Charity Number 266983).

The Openwork Foundation School

In December 2010 we attended the grand opening of the Openwork Foundation School in Manilla, Philippines. This three-year project was made possible by the fundraising efforts of our staff and advisers.

In 2011, this achievement earned national recognition when we were shortlisted for a Third Sector Business Charity Award alongside Barclays, E.ON AG, Lloyds Banking Group and Reckitt Benckiser.
