Day 5 Periyar to Vagamon 54kms

Another early start, with a lovely breakfast at 6am. Which was shortly followed by our daily warm up session taken by Davi dRidley and Davy Sinclair who performed a wonderful double act, which involved changing light bulbs, sprinkling, Bollywood moves and the world famous 'Geordie Butcher' dance.

Then we were taken for the last time hurtling down a steep hill in the jeeps to ground level where reunited with our bikes.

We started our final stretch of 55kms, taking us through some amazing views of villages which then led us into the countryside.  We climbed and climbed then coasted downhill as we headed into the tea plantations, where we saw tea pickers, waterfalls, wondering cows and some amazing views.

Before approaching the final stretch we all regrouped and crossed that finish line together, we started as a team and we were finishing as one.

We received a fantastic welcome to celebrate our achievement, from dancing to banging drums.

The emotions were high and we have every reason to be proud of ourselves for what we have achieved.

On a personal note, this has been an amazing experience and I feel truly blessed to have shared it with each and everyone one of you, I can honestly say that you all are amazing and I admire and appreciate how you come together for one another. It is something really special.

Our aches will heal but our memories will always remain.
