In 2018, we have £250,000 available in grants for the charities our staff and advisers want to support. This is who we helped so far:

Grant 18 SATRO To part fund Programme Manager, SATRO Mobiles Classroom - programme provides a pathway to college and future apprenticeships.
Grant 18 Over The Wall To help fund a therapeutic recreation camp for 25 children with severe, life threatening allergies aged 8-17 at the PGL Centre in Liddington, near Swindon in October 2018.
Grant 18 Gloucestershire Counselling Two expert clinical supervisors of the C&FCS to ensure clinical risk of clients is professionally managed and counsellors are working ethically. Hardship Fund for those unable to pay, particularly siblings impacted by sexual abuse in family.
Grant 18 Accuro To enable us to continue providing opportunities for children and young people with learning disabilities across West Essex and to expand Saturday play club to meet increased demand.
Grant 18 Chestnut Tree House We will use any donation to enable us to run special activities in the community for older children and young people known to the hospice.
Grant 18 Rockinghorse Rockinghorse is seeking funding to provide a 'real-time', digital X-ray facility for the Trevor Mann Baby Unit. The portable imaging equipment will revolutionise the treatment of sick and premature babies.
Grant 18 Forget Me Not The salary of a perinatal nurse, providing an improved quality of life, end-of-life, and death for the newborn/young baby, all provided in the place of their family's choice.
Grant 18 Wood Street Mission To provide older children and teenagers from struggling families in Manchester and Salford with items for school, to help them fit in and achieve.
Grant 18 British Blind Sport To support the delivery of BBS' First Steps project for young children with visual impairments (VI) across the North-West and East Midlands as part of a wider national project.
Grant 18 BL Foundation To purchase wheelchair and crutches to enable children to have more independence.
Grant 18 Norwood Funding to purchase specialist equipment for children with learning disabilities, profound disabilities and/or associated complex health needs using the services.
Grant 18 Ty Cariad Africa Provide salary support to continue to employ an existing employee on a full time basis, giving resources to develop projects and programmes, increase sponsorship, increase awareness, and further develop sustainability.
Grant 18 Purple Community Fund To provide access to education for children who have dropped out of school. Children are in groups 15-20 and mentored by community parent volunteers and PCF's education team.
Grant 18 Acorns To enable our adolescent team to offer the young people an opportunity to broaden their knowledge, improve their self-confidence and learn the skills to live rewarding, more independent adult lives.
Grant 18 Seashell Trust To fund the build of a unique facility called a sensory room. The room is used to selectively stimulate the residual senses of our students as a key development tool.
Grant 18 Blue Smile The purpose of the grant is to provide match funding for expert arts based therapy and mentoring provision in one of our eight Partner Schools in Cambridge, where we provide teams of therapists to support up to 22 children each academic year.
Grant 18 Absolutely Leisure To purchase a further specially adapted go kart, to enable more disabled children and those with special needs the opportunity to experience the benefits of driving a go kart to improve their confidence, co-ordination and have fun.
Grant 18 Richard House We are requesting a grant to convert an old bathroom into a new bedroom in our residential palliative care unit. We currently only have four bedrooms and we require a fifth bedroom to care for more children with life-limiting conditions.
Grant 18 Brainwave To refurbish bathroom, kitchen and repaint hall, bedrooms and lounge areas of bungalow number 1 to a comfortable high standard for our families to use during their stay with us.
Grant 18 Shishukunj Funds are required to cover the annual cost of transportation of 110 disabled children to Dhanvantri school. Without this facility many of these children simply won't have access to education as their disabilities and rural locations make it impossible for them to attend on their own.
Grant 18 Challengers Farnham Centre Redevelopment - the Farnham centre has been in constant use, 7 days a week, by thousands of disabled children for the last 10 years and is now showing the strain of such constant use. A lot of areas are beyond repair and need replacing. Funding would be allocated to the training kitchen refurbishment.
Grant 18 Positive Help Study Buddies supports disadvantaged children who have fallen behind at school due to chaotic family circumstances. Each child receives personalised support from a dedicated mentor to achieve their academic potential.
Grant 18 Winstons Wish To fund two non-residential weekend groups for bereaved children and their families who have been receiving family or one-to-one help from Winston's Wish - reducing social isolation and creating support networks.
Grant 18 Naomi House Jacksplace To build a sheltered outdoor pavilion in the garden of our young adult's hospice, Jacksplace.
Grant 18 Eastleigh Child Contact Centre The grant will be used to pay the salaries of our 2 part time Co-ordinators, as this is our largest expenditure.
Grant 18 WESC To enable visually impaired children, to access a horticultural area for their learning and enjoyment and increase their understanding of growing food and incorporating this into a healthy diet.
Cancer Fund For Children To fund therapeutic residential group work at Narnia Log Cabin for children and young people who are feeling isolated and are struggling to cope with their cancer diagnosis.
Children 1st Part fund the Family Support Unit to help children through 1:1s, group session to develop children and parent skills with the aim to help 44 children (20 families), keeping them safer and their families stronger.
Fields of Life To provide a safe and conducive learning environment through the construction of a 3-class block, including the provision of school furniture and girls and boys VIP latrines.
Lifespace Trust To recruit, train and supervise 9 new volunteer mentors. To fund the supervision of all our volunteer mentors who provide a 1:1 service for children and young people 5-18.
Maddi's Butterflies To support the charity with the cost of the caravan site fees at Ribby Hall Village.
Shakespeare Schools Foundation Support 25 disadvantaged schools and their students with the opportunity to participate in the 2019 Shakespeare Schools Festival, giving up to 875 young people the chance of a lifetime.
Teamwork Trust To develop a skills pathway to work, through work experience and volunteering, for young people with learning difficulties and disabilities to ensure they have the same opportunities as others.
Visyon A contribution to running/premises cost underpinning all our work and enabling us to support over 3350 children and young people with mental health problems in Cheshire, Crewe and Staffordshire.
Wood Street Mission Hold four school holiday Book Clubs for children from low income families in Manchester and Salford, to distribute books and provide activities to encourage enjoyment of reading and improve literacy.
