The Openwork Foundation

About Us

Openwork’s unique community spirit is epitomised by the way the partners, advisers and staff within the Group come together to support good causes in their local communities, through The Openwork Foundation, a UK registered charity (number 1184592).

We are proud to support vulnerable children and adults in the UK and overseas, having donated over £20.5m and the Openwork Foundation’s mission will always be to make a positive difference. From new-born babies to those in later life.

The Openwork Foundation has always been at the heart of the business culture.  We started in 1981 and have been formerly known as the Allied Dunbar Foundation and the Zurich Advice Network Foundation.  We received our registered charity status in 2019, a significant milestone in our history.

We are supported by the generous donations of time and money from the businesses and members of the Openwork Group. We use these donations to provide grants to UK registered charities, to help those most in need in our communities and all grants are nominated by a member of the Openwork Group.

Funds are raised in a variety of ways; through regular donations from partner’s and adviser’s remuneration and staff salary, fundraising challenges and social events. The Openwork Group funds the Foundation’s administrative expenses, overheads and staff costs and uplifts the Foundation’s income by 50%.

Teams of partners, advisers and staff are also encouraged to volunteer; completing challenges or projects for local charities where they live or work, coordinated through the Openwork Foundation. Staff are further encouraged to volunteer in their community and receive one paid business day per year from Openwork to do so.

We are very grateful to all our supporters and for their help in making a positive difference to the lives of those in need.
